The Merino is an influential breed of sheep prized for its wool. Merinos are regarded as having some of the finest and softest wool of any sheep.
Manufactered by British designer Samantha Holmes, who specialises in luxury fabrics and traditional craftsmanship. Alpaca which although relatively unknown compared to cashmere, is equally beautiful.
*Alpacas are not killed for their fur. The fur is mainly from baby Alpacas – or “cria” – which have died of natural causes as the weaker animals often perish in the harsh Andean winter. Alpacas can live for 20 years, promising a lifetime of shearing potential of far greater value than a single pelt.
